The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that for the month of December 2014 the unemployment rate dropped down to 5.6%.

There were also 252,000 jobs added to the economy, which brings the total number of jobs added to the economy to 11.2 million.

A majority of the job sectors added more jobs. The exception was accounting and bookkeeping services, which lost 14,000 jobs.

The top three job sectors that added the most jobs were professional and business services (52,000), construction (48,000), and food services and drinking places (44,000).

The total number of people who were unemployed dropped to 8.7 million. There were 2.8 million people who did not work for 27 weeks or longer.

Their numbers make up 31.9% of the total number of people who were unemployed. As for those who had to work a part-time job, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that their numbers moved little and are at 6.8 million.

The number of jobs added during the months of October and November changed. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that October’s job numbers increased from 243,000 to 261,000, while November’s job numbers increased from 321,000 to 353,000.

This brings the total number of jobs added for those two months to 50,000.
